CHECK-IN
# | Question | Answer |
---|---|---|
1 | What is SKIBUS EXPRESS check-in? | SKIBUS EXPRESS check-in is a process improvement to the standard SKIBUS check-in process that is designed to save considerable time for most participants,
while also enabling SKIBUS to depart on-time on trip days. SKIBUS check-in involves collecting & verifying information from participants,
selecting motorcoaches, as well as distributing boarding passes, lift tickets and merchandise.
The standard check-in process is fairly time-consuming & takes about 45-60 minutes to complete for all participants. The
SKIBUS EXPRESS check-in process should be much faster for most participants (students & chaperones), as it moves the most
time-consuming aspects SKIBUS check-in to participating individuals in the 24-hours proceeding Trip Day. In many cases, participants simply review & confirm the accuracy
of their responses during EXPRESS check-in -- making updates, as needed.
How does SKIBUS EXPRESS check-in work? SKIBUS EXPRESS check-in resembles the general model used by commercial airlines for check-in. It works as follows:

CHECKIN
# | Question | Answer |
---|---|---|
1 | At what time do participants board motorcoaches at Bush for SKIBUS trips? | Typically, SKIBUS boards between 6:00AM and 6:30AM, with 6:30AM SHARP departure. However, the pre-trip check-in mail is always authoritative. When in doubt, go with the time shown in the pre-trip mail or contact skibus@bush.edu. NOTE: SKIBUS does not wait, so please do not arrive late. |
2 | What is Online Check-in? | As with last year's program, SKIBUS offers "Online Checkin" which enables students/parents to quickly and easily check-in for their registered SKIBUS trip. Online Check-in saves a tremendous amount of time for parents & students on early trip mornings & enables students/chaperones to proceed directly to their selected motorcoach without waiting in line - and we strongly encourage participants to use Online check-in! Note that students receive ordered list tickets and physical boarding passes on boarding their motorcoach.
SKIBUS Online Check-in works similarly to an airline check-in:

REGISTRATION
# | Question | Answer |
---|---|---|
1 | How do I register my student for SKIBUS? | Follow the registration link at the top of this site, then click the New Student Registration button. Note that registration is available during the SKIBUS open registration window which typically starts and ends in November each year. |
TRIPCHANGES-CANCELLATIONS
# | Question | Answer |
---|---|---|
1 | My student will miss (or misses) a committed trip. Can I cancel the trip? | No. Cancellations nor refunds are possible after SKIBUS open registration closes as the Bush School incurs financial obligations to vendors based on student commitments made during open registation. However, the following options are available to help families and students when a student needs to miss a SKIBUS trip:
|
2 | What are the SKIBUS "make-up" dates and when are they? | When students miss a SKIBUS trip to Crystal Mountain and choose to redeem the lift ticket for that trip, the Crystal lift ticket may be used at Crystal Mountain on one of the "make-up" dates at Crystal Mountain. "Make Up" dates are not SKIBUS trips - they are simply the dates where Crystal Mountain will honor the lift tickets for missed Bush SKIBUS trips. Students must provide their own transportation to Crystal Mountain to leverage the lift ticket. Crystal Mountain "Make Up" dates are TBD at the moment, but we expect them to be in March or early April 2025 and that there will be a Saturday option and a Sunday option. This text will be updated once the details are settled. |
3 | What happens if I choose to redeem a SKIBUS trip for the lift ticket, but I cannot visit Crystal Mountain on one the "make-up" dates? | Unfortunately, the lift ticket will expire. No refunds or exchanges are possible. |
CHAPERONE
# | Question | Answer |
---|---|---|
1 | How do I register as a volunteer chaperone? | Follow the same instructions as student registration, except click the New Chaperone Registration button. |
2 | What is required to participate as a SKIBUS chaperone? | Prospective SKIBUS chaperones register to participate as a volunteer chaperone during SKIBUS open registration. Chaperone selection is a selective process based on trip capacity and other factors. There is NO requirement to know how to SKI or SNOWBOARD. Volunteers are explicitly notified if they are selected an asked to commit the trip as a volunteer chaperone. A complimentary lift ticket is available to selected chaperones, as required. Please review the SKIBUS Chaperone Participation Requirements to understand participation requirements. If you wish to become a chaperone after open registration, email skibus@bush.edu to learn about available opportunities. |
COMMUNICATIONS
# | Question | Answer |
---|---|---|
1 | Trip Day Communications: WhatsApp! | Trip Day communications (Boarding status, travel ETAs, schedule changes, travel delays, trip cancellations, etc) will occur predominantly through SKIBUS’ WhatsApp group. All SKIBUS participants (parents, students & chaperones) should join and monitor this group closely the day before, during and up to SKIBUS trip complete. Click this link on your mobile devices and PCs to join. Parents/Guardians - Please help your students get Whatsapp installed & help them join Bush SKIBUS Comms Whatsapp group. If Whatsapp cannot be enabled on your student’s mobile device for any reason, please let us know at check-in & we will work out an alternate notification method for your student(s). |
Live support can be obtained by sending email to skibus@bush.edu.
